Utrecht Artists’ Acrylic Gesso - Gallon

Our Artists’ Gesso is an excellent medium-bodied acrylic ground.  It is formulated with the same high-grade Titanium Dioxide and quality polymers that are found in our Professional Grade Gesso but with lower viscosity.

Artists’ Gesso has superior brightness and excellent covering properties that ensure no bleed through.  It produces a slightly toothed surface that can be sanded to an extra smooth finish for detailed work.

Utrecht Artists’ Acrylic Black Gesso

Our black gesso is an acrylic polymer ground that provides the attributes of acrylic gesso with the benefit of a black pre-toned surface.

It establishes a painting ground for oil and acrylic paints on canvas, linen, wood panels, plaster, wallboard and metal.  It is flexible and when applied in thin layers will conform toa  variety of textured surfaces with cracking or crazing.

Utrecht Acrylic Canvas Sizing - Pint

Developed for use as an easy and stable alternative to rabbit skin glue. Our sizing is made of acrylic resins, polymerized for resistance to temperature, humidity, oil and water.

This versatile ground can used as a priming base for either oil or acrylics. It dries quickly for fast canvas preparation and cleans up easily with just soap and water. Welcome to a new generation of canvas preparation.

Utrecht Studio Series Acrylic Gesso - Gallon

Our Studio Series Gesso is a light-bodied acrylic ground.  It is an economical solution great for high volume use. Studio Series gesso provides a slight tooth surface that can be sanded to a smooth finish.

This acrylic ground can be used for water or oil mediums. It adheres well to canvas, paper, board, wood, plaster and stone. Utrecht Studio Series Gesso is archival. Apply three coats to achieve opaque coverage.

Complete priming instructions are printed on container.

We have been having great success with our gallery shows for the .Continuing the excitement, we present “The Animal Picture Show”!

Join us for the opening reception where you can help promote your artwork to the public and maybe make a little money too. Prizes will be awarded during the opening on July 30th, 2009. Great discounts will be given to all submitting artists. All the proceeds of artwork sales will go directly to you.

Eligibility:
- Artwork must be hang-ready when submitted.
- Open to all artists of any level
- Submissions must have been created in the last 5 years
- Artwork must be 11”x14” in height or width maximum (including mating and framing)
- Artwork must be appropriate for all ages
- Artwork must be hand delivered by the artist, no shipped or emailed entries.
- All artwork submitted must be the original (no copies or glichees)

Submission Guidelines:
- Artists may submit up to three (3) entries with a non-refundable entry fee of $4 per piece (check, cash, or credit cards – no money orders) Actual artwork is to be submitted to Utrecht Art Supplies during normal store hours from June 26th, 2009 through July 23rd 2009.
- You will be supplied with entry forms when you drop off your artwork.
- Each piece needs to have a sale price or be marked “NFS” (not for sale) on the entry form.

Prizes:
- There will be three prizes given out during the opening reception.
- First place: $50 gift card.
- Second place: $25 gift card.
- Community pick: $20 gift card.

Important Dates:
- June 26th through July 23nd 2009- Hand deliver artwork during normal store hours for jury process.
- July 23rd 2009 - Notification of acceptance/rejection. (the decisions are non-negotiable)
- July 23rd through July 30th 2009 - pick up for non-selected submissions.
- July 23rd through July 30th 2009 - judging for the community pick winner.
- July 30th, 2009, 7-9pm- Opening reception and awards presentation.
- August 7th trough August 14th 2009 Hand retrieval of artwork during normal store hours.
