Print Impress- Printmaking show

We have been having great success with our gallery shows for the .Continuing the excitement, we present “Print Impress: Printmaking show”!

Join us for the opening reception where you can help promote your artwork to the public and maybe make a little money too.  Prizes will be awarded during the opening on November 5th, 2009.  Great discounts will be given to all submitting artists.  All the proceeds of artwork sales will go directly to you. 

Eligibility:
- Artwork must be hang-ready when submitted. 
- Open to all artists of any level
- Submissions must have been created in the last 5 years
- Artwork must be 12”x16” in height or width maximum (including mating and framing)
- Artwork must be appropriate for all ages
- Artwork must be hand delivered by the artist, no shipped or emailed entries.
- All artwork submitted must be the original (no copies or glichees)
- Original prints only.

Submission Guidelines:
- Artists may submit up to three (3) entries with a non-refundable entry fee of $4 per piece (check, cash, or credit cards – no money orders) Actual artwork is to be submitted to Utrecht Art Supplies during normal store hours from October 1st, 2009 through November 1st 2009.
- You will be supplied with entry forms when you drop off your artwork. 
- Each piece needs to have a sale price or be marked “NFS” (not for sale) on the entry form.

Prizes:
- There will be three prizes given out during the opening reception. 
- First place: $50 gift card.
- Second place: $25 gift card.
-Community pick: $20 gift card.

Important Dates:
- October 1st through November 1st 2009- Hand deliver artwork during normal store hours for jury process.
- November 1st 2009 - Notification of acceptance/rejection. (the decisions are non-negotiable)
- November 1st thru November 4th 2009 - pick up for non-selected submissions.
- November 1st thru November 4th 2009 - judging for the community pick winner.
- November 5th, 2009, 7-9pm- Opening reception and awards presentation.
- November 26th through November 30th 2009 Hand retrieval of artwork during normal store hours.

VERTIGO National Juried Exhibition

Juror: Tyler Emerson-Dorsch Ms. Emerson-Dorsch is co-owner of Dorsch Gallery one of the pioneer establishment in the Wynwood Art District of Miami, FL. Besides the many shows she has curated at the Dorsch Gallery, she has organized and co-curated shows at World Class Boxing and the Frost Art Museum at FIU.  She completed her MA at the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College in 2008, having written a thesis focusing on video art. Between 2002 and 2006 she worked at Miami Art Museum and then Fredric Snitzer Gallery in Miami. She has a BA in Art History from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Awards: Cash awards and possibility of participation in future group and/or solo exhibition at BC.

Media: All media are accepted including digital media and installations as space allows. Works that are easily shipped/ hand delivered are encouraged. All work must be ready to hang with professional wire and have specific installation instructions. Special equipment/installation must be provided by the artist.

Eligibility:This National Juried Exhibition is open to artists 18 years and older who reside in the US. Work must be made within the last 3 years and made completely by the artist with no copyright infringements.  Work must be represented by the JPG images; any accepted work that differs from the entry images will be disqualified. Accepted works must remain in the gallery during the entire run of the exhibition and will not be removed for any reason. No substitutions will be allowed.

Theme: All interpretations of the theme vertigo.

Entries:Enter by submitting a completed entry form, image and non-refundable fee.
Submit up to 4 digital images on CD. Entries will be juried from only in JPG image files. All Images MUST BE un-retouched, original, RGB color format JPG files saved at 300 dpi at 4 x 6 inches. No exceeding at 1920 pixels in width and height. Only one detail maybe included per work. (totaling 8 jpg files) The image files must be saved as Number corresponding to your entry form, Artists name, and title of work. CD-Rs of unaccepted works for the exhibition will be returned to the artists if SASE is provided. All work must arrive on campus by September 21 2009. (Not a postmark date)
